Witness the ancient alchemy of hand-applied Pure Gold leaf and other precious metal leaf, brought together with abstract forms, matte tempera colors and reinterpreted symbols. Each painting emerges from a tactile dialogue between pigment, metal, light and gesture – an ultra-contemporary interpretation of materials that have carried meaning across centuries.
Our experience with metal leaf is grounded in extensive hands-on work and self-directed experimentation with a wide range of materials – from imitation Gold and Silver leaf (Schlagmetal) to genuine precious metals, and especially across a spectrum ranging from Silver to 24-karat Pure Gold leaf. Working directly with these materials has given us an intimate understanding of their different tones, textures, reflectivity and relationship with color, light and individual surfaces. This experience informs every artistic decision: the choice of metal, leaf’s thickness & dimensions, the way it interacts with the matte tempera, the balance between radiance and restraint, and the atmosphere a work creates within a space. For us, precious metal leaf is at the heart of the language of every painting.
We offer a personal, complimentary Art Advisory service for those looking to discover, select or curate precious metal leaf artworks for a private residence, hospitality space, corporate environment or meaningful gift. Our approach is informed by both artistic vision and material experience, as well as our passion and dedication to working with precious metal leaf through traditional techniques and contemporary, experiential personal approaches. We also consider the character of the space, its scale, architecture, natural and artificial light, existing colors and materials, as well as the atmosphere and meaning you wish the artwork to create.
Whether selecting a single painting or developing a more coherent collection, we can advise on the relationship between timeless artworks, their placement and the visual dialogue they create with their surroundings. Our role is to help you discover the work that feels naturally connected to its space – particularly through its relationship with light and its story.
