Green ART Tales | Creating Temporary Worlds

A contemporary art exhibition can unexpectedly transform the way an event is perceived when it is conceived as a special curatorial intervention within the space in which the event takes place. A forum and an awards ceremony are, by nature, built around dialogue, ideas, recognition and professional connections. Introducing contemporary abstract art, however, adds another dimension of experience: that of looking, interpreting and feeling. For a few hours, a space designed for conferences can become an exhibition space, while participants can move almost imperceptibly from being spectators of a professional event to becoming visitors to a contemporary art exhibition.

This was the premise behind Green ART Tales – a Pop-up ART exhibition specially curated for Green Sustainability Forum & Awards 2024: The Creators of Positive Impact, an event organized by Green Start-Up on June 19, 2024, at Nayam Events. Conceived around the Summer Solstice, the exhibition introduced into the atmosphere of the forum a selection of contemporary abstract artworks built around green and red hues, amplified by the luminescence of Pure 24 kt Gold leaf. Color, abstract forms and light created a distinctive visual perspective, temporarily transforming the event space into a universe with its own rhythm and meanings. The selected artworks were thus presented to create a visual and conceptual counterpoint to the themes explored on stage.

The strength of a contemporary pop-up art exhibition lies precisely in its temporary nature and in its ability to bring art closer to an audience that may not necessarily visit a gallery or an art museum. In such a context, the encounter with art becomes spontaneous: a guest may discover an artwork between two sessions, start a conversation about it during networking, or pause to look closely at an abstract painting without having initially come for an artistic experience. In this way, the exhibition becomes an informal gateway to Romanian contemporary art, while the setting of a professional event can function, for a limited period of time, as an unconventional extension of the contemporary art scene.

Additionally, the encounter between a sustainability forum and contemporary art creates a dialogue between two different ways of communicating ideas about nature and the responsible use of resources. While the forum communicates through discourse, information and strategy, art communicates through color, symbol and perception, but also through concrete examples. In Green ART Tales, shades of green and red created a visual vocabulary that resonated with the atmosphere of the event, while the presence of Pure 24 kt Gold leaf introduced the dimensions of light and material into a contemporary context. In this way, art offered another perspective: one that is intuitive, perceptual and open to personal interpretation.

Such an approach demonstrates that a pop-up art exhibition can change the way a space is experienced. For a few hours, a forum and an awards ceremony can become an immersion into the world of Romanian contemporary art, while the encounter between the professional environment and artistic creation can generate new forms of dialogue and cultural connection. Green ART Tales was, in this sense, a temporary world created through art – an experience in which color, light and space created a moment of encounter between the audience and Romanian contemporary art with precious metal leaf.
